Ease of Use Leads to Efficiency

Mission Hills Mortgage Bankers

Founded in 1969, Mission Hills Mortgage Bankers is one of the top five privately owned mortgage banking firms in the country. Mission Hills is a direct lender with over 36 branch locations providing loans throughout the nation. The company services over 18,000 customers' loans, which represents nearly $2 billion in mortgages.

The Challenge

Mission Hills Mortgage Bankers knew that paper systems were on their way out and had begun to look at electronic delivery technologies. When they compared systems, one did not have a preview feature, which, says Tim Moore, department manager for corporate IS at Mission Hills, is critical to the process. In the end, their LOS recommended SwiftSend.

The Solution

Early in the search for a solution, the company tried a home-built PDF system, but it was, "very cumbersome," according to James Bishop, operations manager for Mission Hills Orange County Builders Division. Moore explains why: "Acrobat Writer does not distinguish between legal and letter size paper in the same doc pack - a costly add-on can rectify that, but that would need to be at each end-user's location, from my understanding. So two doc packs are required, and the end user must know to change their paper size when printing the legal pack. SwiftSend of course is seamless with the letter versus legal in the same doc pack and is also seamless with the ability to preview the doc pack as it is created before sending it. These would all be additional steps with the PDF approach."

Moore was also thrilled with the ease with which he could get SwiftSend running, and the great tech support. "The initial install at Corporate was plug-n-play. We did have a slight learning curve with our remote sites, since they access the system through Terminal Services, but SwiftSend support was there to make that painless."

The Results

"SwiftSend absolutely saves us lots of time and money," says Bishop, whose branch uses SwiftSend for all but a very few of its 35-40 month deals. "Compared to printing, copying, and express mailing it's so much quicker."
