Trustmark Mortgage Services

Trustmark Mortgage Services, one of the South's leading residential mortgage lenders, is a division of Trustmark Corporation (NASDAQ: TRMK), a diversified financial services company with over $7 billion in assets that provides banking, investment, and insurance solutions through over 150 offices and 2,400 associates in Mississippi and Tennessee. The company is headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi.

The Challenge

Trustmark Mortgage Services was experiencing big increases in mortgage refinances and needed to shorten the time it took to get packages to closing. “We wanted to have a better edge on the market and emailing documents was one way we could do that,” explains Bonnita Boyd, Assistant VP/systems administration for Mortgage Services. “Previously, we either sent via FedX, sent packages through our bank courier service to the branch closest to the attorney, or the local attorney would pick up the packages. All of these added extra days to the closing.”

The Solution

Boyd looked at several systems, considering the top selection criteria to be security, document accuracy and user friendliness. With the first system Boyd tried, “we had problems getting it to work correctly in the Citrix environment.” SwiftSend LoanDocs®, even though it is not run through Citrix, worked without a hitch. “I was thrilled with how easy SwiftSend was to install,” says Boyd. “It did everything; even the printer was setup during the installation. Users were trained in minutes. I don't think we’ve had a single problem since we began using it. Of course, SwiftSend also appealed to us because of the cost.”

The Results

“Since we began using SwiftSend, we have definitely seen an increase in efficiency: time saved and costs cut, and it has certainly reduced our express mail costs,” says Boyd. “Closers and attorneys love it. Currently, we are only using it in our Retail Mortgage area, but plan to roll it out to our Wholesale closers very soon. We expect our SwiftSend volume will more than triple then.”
